JVA Bad Reichenhall

In September 2007 I spent 4.5 months in haft in Bad Reichenhall. This was initially built as a ladies prison so the rooms are very small (fitting 2 on a bunkbed), stretch out you hand/arm and that is the width of the room, double that + another arm and that is the length.. oh yes... lovely open toilet in the room to delight inmates. Working is only a benefit to leave the cell for 4 to 5 hours a day (mon-fri), I was lucky to get on to the salt workline. The 'Beamter' are quite friendly... the fatter they are the more grumpy they are ! The TV signal was next to none, the sport was none, the hour in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) was the only time one was allowed to stand in the inner courtyard. To ease your time make friends with the kitchen staff (give them cigarettes..) to recieve extra food, try and get into cell 21 as it is one of the best in the house. Stay strong and be noble... And do not become a verräter!!
